| R. Allen Lott is Professor of Music History and Associate Dean of the Academic Division in the at in Fort Worth, Texas. A native of Lytle, Texas, he received his bachelor's degree in piano from Trinity University in San Antonio and his Ph.D. in musicology from the City University of New York. He has worked for Grove's Dictionaries of Music and was research assistant at the Institute for Studies in American Music at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. |  |
